As an old saying goes “From man’s sweat and God’s Love, Beer came into the world”, love for beer in Hyderabad goes a long way and continues to be the favorite party drink and the most preferred choice for Hyderabadis. Capitalizing on this craze for beer is Zero40 Brewing, which has been brewing wonderful ale and lager for their guests. Have you wondered how this brewery got its name? Interestingly, Zero40 (040) is the STD (Telephone) code of Hyderabad.
Zero40 Brewing, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad: Decor
The place is spread across four levels and each floor is distinctly designed. The paintings on the walls are impressive; hanging spiral filament bulbs that emanate a pale light gives a warm feel, coupled with wooden bench seating that gives a rustic yet charming touch to it. This place is pet-friendly too. Zero40 combines an airy garden and stylish interiors with an open brewery, and is the perfect place for mid-week catch-ups or night outs on the weekends.
Zero40 Brewing, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad: Food
The place serves brewery-fresh beer and some delicious, wholesome food in an inspired setup. The menu is quite elaborate. For the munchies, they have a great choice from American, Indian and fusion foods. Try Karam Podi Prawn Tempuras, which are crisp golden fried prawns served with homemade gunpowder and ghee. Thai Roasted Paneer, is fried cottage cheese tossed in Thai sauce, which is different yet tasty. Butter Chicken Pizza is decent, but it’s just a pizza topped with chicken in Makhni gravy.
What really sets Zero40 apart is its uniqueness; they constantly surprise you with a great variety of styles and each is as good as the last. Shavasan, Old Timer, The Blue Camel, Go, Swami, Vincent Van Goat and Beach Bum — each brew has its own special ingredients, is very crisp and chilled to perfection.
They also have paired dishes with respective brews, ask helpers to guide you and they would gladly oblige. Those with a bigger appetite can opt for platters, which are wholesome and lavish. Herb Roasted Lamb Chops, Bacon Fat Popcorn and Zero40 Biryani are good options. Finally, finish your meal on a sweeter note with their delicious Chocolate Brownie.
