If you are looking for a place to unwind over good food and a few drinks, then Gourmet Bar is the place to be. It is located in a Novotel near the Shamshabad Airport.

Unlike the earlier lounge setup, the new interiors are lively and elegant. The lighting is good and the seating is comfortable and well arranged. There’s ample room to sit and stretch oneself without worrying about the neighboring tables. Foot tapping music in the background elevates the mood.

The chef’s menu captures the mood of the customers. It includes short bites that complements the beverages. We began with steamed broccoli and crispy zucchini salad, well-blanched broccoli florets and crisp zucchini slices tossed with cilantro chili-lime vinaigrette. The dish was balanced and refreshing. The place also has a few vegan options. We tried the achari soya chaps, a vegan appetizer made with clay-oven smoked hot and sour soya cubes served with bishop weed and mint sauce. It was delicious and was a great vegan substitute for chicken tikka. The pulled lamb taco, a braised lamb served on a homemade taco with jalapeno avocado guacamole and feta cream sauce was simply marvelous. We also sampled the smoked spicy jalapeno paneer tikka nanza — Indianized pizza version with a naan base topped with makhani sauce, paneer tikka cubes, trippers, jalapeno, and onion loaded with processed cheese. I must say the combinations were perfect and the naan base equally impressed me. The variety of dishes created by the chef was very impressive.

Apart from these, one can try curry leaf risotto with kalan milagu and fried chicken wings, which are my favorites. If one wants to experiment, they can always try the chef’s recommendation.

They have a lot of options on their menu —from burgers, wraps, sandwiches and tacos to rolls, pasta and combo meals.

Their bar menu has well-stocked wines, hard liquor, and a never-ending list of mojitos, shooters, martinis, and other cocktails and mocktails. They have an elaborate bar menu which boosts of few signatures too that is concocted with fresh herbs from their kitchen garden. Overall, the Gourmet Bar is just the thing for a family meal or a drink with friends with cordial service and value for money.
