Under the stars and the moon, on a cool November evening, I step out of the lift and into the space that is called Skyloft. Above me, a cloud passes over the moon, and I wonder if it’s going to rain down on my party. But the stars sparkle their smiles and tell me all is well. Comfortable, white outdoor furniture with dark wooden flooring and lovely mellow music add romance to the evening.

Coconut-Crusted Salmon with Wasabi Mayo Dallop with microgreens add colour and texture to the otherwise colourless wasabi.The baked salmon chunks come in a coconut shell with the coconut kernel intact. I love that the edges surrounding the fresh sweet coconut kernel are charred and smokey. I find the salmon chunks taste better when dotted with the smooth pungency of the wasabi mayo. I even go one step further and slather it on to the charred coconut kernel, and find it does actually taste… different, but nice.
Dilwale Paneer is shaped like a heartshaped open box, with the lid and sides made of paneer sheets.
I did say this place was romantic, right? Homemade, reddish, nutty fruit jam sits, encased, in the middle. Pretty to look at, that jam reminded me of a jam sandwich I so loved as a child but did not really justify its presence in the paneer.
Lemon Grass Consume is light, quite much like a lemongrass flavoured rasam. I love the lemongrass flavour and the sweet crunch of fresh pomegranate arils.
Thin tortilla wrapped Chimichanga with its diced veggies and tofu (instead of meat) comes on a bed of fresh salsa and has a vegan option. The salsa adds tang and flavour while the veggies inside make it flavourful. I like the slightly browned edges. Dessert would have to be the Rich Honey Cake, which is sweetened just right. It is soft without being too fluffy: a proper cake, in my opinion.

The rain stayed in the clouds, letting me have a good al fresco experience. Chef Prem, who has recently joined, has the confidence to experiment with food and is willing to incorporate changes.
