Sale and Pepe Ristorante Italian is a smart casual restaurant that has earned a good reputation for its vegetarian Italian food. It has recently opened a new branch on Manekbaug – Shyamal Road.

This new restaurant is on the first floor of a commercial complex with the signage visible from the parking area on the main road.
Inside an appropriately rustic wooden door, the restaurant is fairly colorful with pictures spanning the wall. Rows of tables are set along the walls with comfortable seating.

There is a good choice of soups like the cream of tomato.
For those avoiding cream, the papa ol pomodoro is a rustic Tuscan soup with tomato and basil. Both the quinoa salad and the cous cous are good for those who like salads.
For the mains, we ordered the spinach ravoili, silky pasta squares well-stuffed with spinach and ricotta cheese, floating in rich and creamy parma rosa sauce. The stuffed pasta range at the restaurant is excellent – ravoili with mushrooms, tortelleni stuffed with sweet potatoes, and different gnocchi dishes. Among the pastas, we ordered whole wheat spaghetti aglio olio e peperoncino which was simple and delicious with garlic and olive oil.
Similarly, their diavolo is a simple and delicious pizza with melting mozzarela, tomato sauce, sundried tomatoes, chili, onions and feta cheese on a crisp and thin crust. They have a wide range of pizzas with different toppings.
For dessert, we enjoyed the coffee panna cotta which was creamy and smooth, just firm enough to hold the cream together. The blueberry cheesecake is also pretty good.
Among the drinks here, we tried the mint mojito and the kombuchas.
