Sabores European Bistro is a new alfresco bistro located at the junction of Bhandarkar Road and Law College Road that serves European food.
Sabores European Bistro, Shivaji Nagar, Pune: Decor
Located on the rooftop, Sabores is a completely alfresco space. During the day, the space offers a great view of the surrounding tekdi (hillock) and in the evening they lit the space up beautifully with hanging lights. With its rooftop setting surrounded by hills, it is always breezy. The decor is tastefully done and the seating is comfortable. They also offer a beautifully decorated private gazebo for groups and are equipped with hosting live gigs.

The team at Sabores is a bunch of super foodies who always dreamt of running a bistro someday. Owners Dhanashri, a nutritionist and Shweta, a finance consultant ably joined by Chef Anish and Ketan are the people behind this bistro. In fact, the name Sabores means flavours in Spanish.
The well-curated menu features dishes from across Europe and even the Mediterranean. After admiring and soaking in the stunning view of the hills, we started with the tapas section. The tender and succulent Turkish chicken kebabs were perfectly grilled and the accompanying humus and muhammara (red peppers and walnut) dips really complimented the taste. The scrumptious Mediterranean fish cakes came with a creamy yogurt dip spiced with sumac and a fresh bulgur salad. Our personal favorite was the German dish bratkartoffeln. Pan-friend potatoes mixed with generous amounts of crispy bacon shards and spiced with rosemary, this one was a total winner. We almost considered ordering another plate.
Berlin’s most popular street food, the doner kebab which originates in Turkey, features on the menu. Grilled chicken served in pita pockets with a creamy yogurt sauce and vegetables, the chicken doner kebab was extremely tasty and highly recommended. The Sabores special, a Spanish style sandwich with grilled vegetables and roasted red pepper jam is a treat for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. For pizzas, we decided to go vegetarian and ordered the stellar herby mushroom gourmet pizza. The crust was perfectly thin and crunchy and the two types of mushrooms and the red onions were a great combination to have on a pizza.
After the delicious pizza, we ordered the grilled salmon with lemon parsley buerre. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was delightfully flaky. The dish was accompanied by a creamy mash and grilled asparagus. We absolutely could not resist the fettuccini alfredo pasta. Perfectly shaped and al-dente fettuccini tossed in a creamy and rich alfredo sauce was a revelation. We would definitely go back to try the other pasta dishes.
The tiramisu cake was our sweet end to a sumptuous and hearty meal.
