R Kitchen has a bright cheerful atmosphere with lots of natural light streaming in during the day through large windows. The tables are laid out in different semi-partitioned areas of the restaurant so you can look for one that offers more privacy for a conversation or a meeting. A special feature of the restaurant is the open to view kitchen areas where you can see some of the cooking.

North Indian food is the forte of R Kitchen which also offers acceptable European and East Asian food. Since the Pan-Asian specialty restaurant of the hotel is under renovation, they currently accept requests for some of the Japanese and South-East Asian dishes from that restaurant too. The Miso Soup with spring onion and tofu, and the Tonjiro Soup if you like pork, are worth having from their Japanese selection as are their sushis which are quite acceptable for Ahmedabad.
The delicate Dahi ke Kebab and creamy Murgh Malai Tikkaare good starters. The Zaitooni Paneer Tikka is a good fusion starter that has olives added to the curdy paneer tikka. The Zard Seekh Kebab is a fairly good mutton kebab.
For the mains, the Murg Makhani is pretty good with chicken tikka in buttery tomato gravy that is not overpowered with masala as in some restaurants of the city. The Mutton Rogan Josh has tender meat in rich gravy. Aloo Bukhara Kofta is their signature vegetarian dish. The Thai Green Curry served with jasmine rice is also worth having – you can opt for chicken or vegetarian. The pastas and risottos are okay.
The chef’s recommended dessert here is the Vanilla Mille-feuille, and their Indian sweets of the day are good as well.
