This is a simple eatery tucked away in a building along a narrow pathway with columns, arches and tiled floors. Outdoors type tables and chairs are placed inside andi in the portico. Must of the kitchen is open to view, and the owners can be seen bustling around and supervising the cooking.

Purohit Thali is best known for its substantial thali. The dal baati is one of the signature dishes that usually come as part of the thali – the baatis are good, the dal varies with the day. The other dishes on the menu include a potato curry of the day, a seasonal or green vegetable, a pulse called kathol,various breads, dal – rice for lunch or khichdi – kadhi for dinner, various sides, chaas and sweets (typically gulab jamun).
They have recently launched combo meals as specials of the day. This is one of the few places in Ahmedabad that serves a zunka bhakar, which is a Maharashtrian classic combo of pithlawhich is a porridge of besanwith a smooth consistency and eggplant stuffed with a peanut gravy served with a rustic jowar bakhriand a rotimade from rice flour. Zunka Bhakhar is served on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Their winter Special is began bharatapaired with a bajra rotla.Their Kathyawadi Special comprises sev tamatar with thepla or makai rotla.You could also ask for their dal baati with churma as the sweet. You could also order the khichdi kadhi as a combo for dinner if you do not want to have the full thali.
