Nini’ Kitchen is a chain of restaurants in Ahmedabad, with one restaurant in Anand. They have recently opened a restaurant near Science City.
Food
The restaurant is located in a commercial building with other eateries and quick service outlets,on the first floor, and visible from the road. It is a sufficiently-sized restaurant with glass walls and mirrors that make it look larger. Like the other restaurants of this brand that have a variety of decor and architectural elements, unusual lighting fixtures, props and visuals, here too the decor is eclectic. You can sit on a corner table with casual cafe chairs set on a decorous floor facing a wood-and-brick textured wall, or on woven back lounge chairs facing framed pictures,on a cosy blue settee or on a long table along the wall.
The restaurant has long been known for its varied range of vegetarian food like the paneer shawarma, shavings of cottage cheese marinated in spices of the Arab world, and wrapped along with garlic paste, tahini, hummus and pickles in pita bread and bharwan mushroom to vegetable and cheese kofta, seedhi saadi yellow dal in home style, dal makhani, Mexican hot pot, and even pizzas, pastas and sandwiches. Such variety of dishes has made it a popular choice for families as it satisfies the cravings of many diners on a large table.
Their new menu has introduced many modern fusion creations. You can start with their Cantonese soup, a hot-and-sour soup that comes with crispy noodles. Roasted tomato and bellpepper is another soup that they have launched.
The beetroot peanut cutlet with mango chilli sauce has bread crumb crusted cutlets fried till crisp. Indian street food gets a twist here like the three cheese bread pakora which has a filling of parmesan, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, and bits of garlic sauteed mushrooms, and comes with mango chutney and cucumber pickle. Afghani soya chaap has soya kebab smeared with spiced cream. Crispy cottage cheese in sriracha sauce is another of their new house specials.
The restaurant has also introduced watermelon and feta salad and Mediterranean quinoa salad. The latter has grilled eggplant, tomatoes and onions. Their mushroom and cheese risotto is creamy.
The New York cheesecake, which is free of egg and gelatin, is pretty good, and Nini’s retains its reputation for a rich Italian-style hot chocolate.
