Located on the first floor of a commercial complex, Namak is an aesthetically pleasing restaurant with colorful interiors – striped floors, mosaic tables with matching upholstered chairs, well upholstered settees, multi-colored lamp shade, colored glass windows, string puppets and intricate ceiling are some of the features of the decor. You can choose to lounge in a section with settees or opt for the smart chairs and tables.

The restaurant offers comfort foods like modern takes on popular street foods, chaats, Gujarati and Kathiawadi mains, Marathi combos and rich Indian sweets. The vada pav is pretty good, and they also have dabeli, bhungra bataka, patra, mirchi vada and kothimbar vada all of which are smartly plated with much attention to presentation. There is also a good selection of Gujarati farsan like khandvi, khaman platter and handva. Chokha khichu, ragda pattice and pav bhaji are some of the street food style dishes on offer. There are also chaats like bhel puri, pani puri, papdi chaat and sev puri,as well as mohan bhog.
The restaurant’s specialties are its Maharashtrian dishes like the misal pao, pithla bhakar, patodi bhaji – phulka, shev bhaji, thalipeeth – chutney, puran poli, phodnicha bhat and varaan bhat. The Gujarati and Kathiawadi dishes include rasawala bataka – phulka, bhareli dungri, ringan no olo, turiya patra, among others. You can also have shrikhand with masala puri.
The besan ladoo, sukhdi, gul papdi and other sweets are also worth having.

With its attractive interiors and smartly plated dishes, this is a good place for snacks, mains and sweets. This is one of the few places in Ahmedabad where you get Marathi combos some of which are pretty good and a few just about acceptable.
