Located on the first floor of a building, Lollo Rosso faces the main road with a colourful sign. The glass door has the restaurant’s logo as its centrepiece. This is a smallish, casual restaurant with a pleasant ambience, bistro style furniture and attractive light fixtures.

Lollo Rosso has a relatively short menu with a strong focus on one-bowl-meals, which are very much in keeping with contemporary trends quick, convenient and substantial meals, and offering healthy and light lunch or dinner options too. Ingredients are mixed together so that you can get the characteristic flavors of a particular cuisine. The Thai Bowl, for example, has paneer, chicken or prawn satay, broccoli, zucchini, pumpkin and mushroom (inform if you don’t want mushrooms) cooked in a Thai Red Curry, with characteristic ingredients identified with Thailand kaffir leaves, galangal and crushed peanuts, and served on sticky rice in a bowl to make a one dish meal. Similarly, when we ordered the Korean Bibimbap Bowl what we got was a bowl filled with chicken and some of the common Bibimbap faves like spinach, peppers, cucumber and kimchi, topped with a fried egg the bell peppers were glazed with chilli and sesame oil, and the spinach with garlic, but the strong taste of fermented soy characteristic of many Korean dishes was missing. The Greek Bowl and a Shawarma Bowl have Mediterranean inspired ingredients.If you are looking for something to share rather than a mixed bowl, there are sandwiches and pies. For dessert, we had a Cannoli which was not bad.
