Kshatriya Foods that offer coastal Andhra recipes, especially seafood, is the latest addition to a string of restaurants that are popping up in the city. After a successful stint in the Godavari districts, the restaurant has brought traditional Kakinada dishes to the city of Nawabs.

The restaurant serves traditional delicacies from Kakinada and the neighboring areas. But that’s not all. Their menu also offers North Indian and Chinese delicacies. Traditionally, dishes from coastal Andhra comprise meat and seafood cooked in tangy hot curry served with rice. The food might be a tad too spicy for some.
We started with the stuffed crab. Though the crab looked small, it was generously stuffed and made for a filling dinner. It had the right amount of spice to satiate the taste buds. Next in line was chicken Kathmandu and mutton salt and pepper. The chicken delicacy was simple; it was a recipe tailor made for kids. The mutton starter was quite soft with the right amount of pepper.
After a nice beginning, we moved to the mains and ordered mini chicken pulao and mini kheema prawn pulao. They serve mini as well as regular portions, which is a good way to stop food wastage. The portion size served was decent. While the chicken pulao had subtle flavors,the kheema prawn pulao with minced lamb and juicy shrimps was an explosion of flavors.
Some of the other exciting dishes they serve include kaju chicken, chicken pulao, natukodi pulao, royyala pulao, peethala pulao, royyala rice, chicken sambar rice, naukodi pulusu and ckinta chiguru kodiguddu. They also offer a plethora of vegetarian delicacies that are equally yummy. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the area where it is situated, and they have great customer service.
