There are places with good food; there are places with good ambience. And then there are places that ace on both fronts. Koma 2.0 falls in the latter category. Located in the bustling Financial District of Hyderabad, this watering hole is already a hit with Gen Next. And why not? Whether you want to stand around a bar nursing a drink with your buddies or you want to let your hair down and dance the night away to some groovy house, trap and hip-hop, Koma 2.0 is the place to be.
KOMA 2.0, Gochibowli, Hyderabad: Decor
The ambience is impressive. Couches with cushions, neon lighting, and attractive props give the interiors a chic feel. Seating is well-done with ample room, giving the place an airy vibe. Brick walls, metal plates, wooden flooring and a mezzanine-level DJ console complete the interiors. For those who want to shake a leg, the dance floor is well laid out with perfect acoustics.
KOMA 2.0, Gochibowli, Hyderabad: Food
The bar counter at the centre is the main attraction and one can see all the barmen’s acrobats up and close. They have an intimidating bar menu. While the wine (sparkling, red and white) and champagne lists are impressive, the in-house cocktails and mocktails won’t disappoint either. Apart from wines, they also house the regulars be it Scotch, single malts, cognac, tequila, rum, and so on.
If that still doesn’t quench your thirst, then their house specialty surely will. Of the mocktails, Sunset, Kiwi Punch are equally enticing. What’s more, you can ask the mixologists to shake up something just for your tastebuds.
Coming to the food, it’s mostly simple and tasty global fare. However, you can go for some of their specials, like chilli chicken and scallions, kathi roll, soft shell crab, or in veggies chilli cheese toast with a twist and achari paneer tikka, but my favourite was dragon prawns — deep fried and tossed with cashews in a sweet-spicy sauce. Their Koma platters, pizzas, and burgers are wholesome and filling. A special shout out to the courteous and friendly staff.
