Hotel Moti Mahal has a long-standing reputation for its Mughlai food. Their branch at Sarkhej Highway has also become very popular.

This restaurant has a parking area in front. Inside it has glass screen partitions, granite patterned columns, walls with textured pieces and ceiling patterns. The interiors are well-lit.

Moti Mahal is known for its Mughlai food. I started with the chicken farcha, which had succulent fork-tender chicken beneath the fried batter. Chicken karela is one of their house specials – chicken stuffed with mince. The gilafi seekh was juicy and delicate in texture but robustly flavored. Foil chicken is one of the signature dishes here but I have found variations in the recipe each time I have had it. Tandoori chaap is one of their other must-have starters.
Among their mains,the chicken bhartha has a creamy texture. Dabba gosth is a rustic and meaty dish. You could also check for their daily specials like the rich Lucknow shahi mutton, chicken black pepper or arbee gosth.
The tawa delicacies cooked on a griddle are also Moti Mahal specialties like tawa kaleji, tawa chaap and bheja fry. Since Moti Mahal opens early for breakfast you could come for some of the breakfast specials with eggs, paya or liver too. The nihari when they have it on the menu is excellent.
Moti Mahal’s mutton biryani, chicken biryani, egg pulao and veg pulao have been popular from a long time. If you order ahead they also offer rimjhim pulao – a fragrant fried rice dish.
For vegetarians, they have a good range of North Indian dishes as also some Indian style Chinese and western dishes. Since it stays open for long hours, the restaurant also has snack dishes like sandwiches and pizzas.
The caramel custard here is a must have – nice and creamy with a clear brown caramel sauce.

Hotel Moti Mahal is a good restaurant for mutton, chicken and egg dishes in Mughlai and North Indian style. Since it opens in the morning, this is a good choice for breakfast when travelling on the highway and is also open till late at night.
