Giani occupies a shop on the ground floor of a commercial complex with a glass door facing the busy main road. The bright and well-lit interiors have displays for the ice-creams and the stations where sundaes are assembled or the ice-creams are mixed on cold stone. There is a seating arrangement for those who want to sit and eat.

Giani’s menu is fairly extensive covering a variety of flavors and combinations, while retaining the original fruit milk shakes, kulfis and faloodas which have been their hot sellers from decades. Giani also caters to the health and fitness conscious, and the calorie watchers, with low sugar and low-fat options, as well as protein gelatos.
This being the time for summer fruits, I tried litchi ice-cream which had chunks of the fruit with the sweetness and hint of tartness that you expect from litchi fruit, the mango milk shake which was also good with the taste of mango shining as the hero of the drink, and the jamun sorbet which is a good low sugar and low-fat option. The pineapple shake was also nice and not overly sweet. The stone sundaes are ice creams with mix-ins that are hand blended together on a frozen stone – the chocolate killer is a good choice for those who like chocolate. The store also has gelatos – I tried the after 9 which had a good balance of chocolate with mint. chocolate whiskey gelato will be liked by those who like their chocolates with a hint of bitterness.
