The Food and Science combination has always thrilled me, and Farzi Cafe offers a one-of-a-kind experience for guests to get up close and personal with Molecular Gastronomy. Zorawar Kalra, the man behind this modern Indian Cafe, revolutionized the acuity of Indian cuisine by taking it on to the global arena. Altering and modifying, yet retaining the core essence of Indian flavors is very tricky, but it has been successfully accomplished by Farzi.

The beauty of this restaurant is the way it is built. Its panoramic view of greenery through the high glass walls on one side gives an incredible experience of relishing a nice meal in the middle of nature. It’s one of the largest franchises with a seating capacity of over 300. The swanky bar houses a vast collection of both Indian and international spirits. Seating is classy yet contemporary.

The menu is exquisite and is typical modern Indian cuisine with lots of twists and turns, and local Hyderabadi influences. As soon as we sat down, we were served a delightful Mishti Doi and strawberry Amuse-bouche — oh my gosh, the burst of flavors just woke me up. We began with Chilli Chicken “Patti Samosa” with Sulemani Chai Chutney and Desi Curd Poppers with smoked tomato chutney. The deep-fried samosa is stuffed with typical chilli tossed chicken (minced), I must say it’s one of the fieriest stuff I had in recent times. Fortunately, the Hung Curd Poppers saved me, which was subtle, crunchy and creamy.

Interestingly, they offer palate cleansers in-between courses, which helps you distinguish the flavors much better. From the mains, we picked Tandoori Paneer stuffed with herb and cashew nut mixture along with San Marzano (Sicilian tomato) in makhani gravy served with roti. And, how can one miss biryani? It came with Farzi’s twist, Shawarma biryani — Dum biryani with chunks of lamb leg and plated as an illusion of live shawarma, very wholesome.

At Farzi, one must leave some room for desserts, which are very creative and captivating. One must try Fenni Nest, Ras Malai Tres Leches with Carrot Cream, Parle G Cheesecake and many more.

They have wonderful molecular mixology cocktails that are extremely innovative and offer a spellbinding experience, with flavors that burst on your taste buds. Overall, it’s a place to visit for an out-of-the box experience.
