Fanooz Restaurant & Banquet, Masab Tank, Hyderabad: Decor
As one enters the place, a bold lettered sign which reads, “The Royal Dine”, greets you and the place really does make you feel like royalty. The interiors have a touch of class and majestic flair to it. Carefully placed Porcelains of erstwhile Nizam’s era are a treat to the eye. The cutlery, Nizam’s opulent Makhmal sherwani, old picture frames of Hyderabad and the chandeliers, all add up to the grandeur. Comfortable seating, aureate lighting and soothing music enhances the ambiance. Spread over two floors, this is a great place to be with family and loved ones.
Fanooz Restaurant & Banquet, Masab Tank, Hyderabad: Food
Fanooz serves Indian, Arabian, Chinese and a few Lebanese fares with ease. The Arabian menu offers a decent variety, out of which Laham shorba is a healthy one, packed with flavor and nutrition. One of the standout dishes is the dijaj al-faham which is an Arabian spicy grilled chicken made with simple yet interesting, Arabic masalas and grilled to perfection. Then came their house special, Murgh Peshawari. Tender and spicy, it was an absolute delight. Their kebabs platters, which are available in both veg and non-veg are wholesome and provide value for your money.
The Tangdi Kebab too is a winner. It is a well marinated, tandoor-cooked chicken leg piece which is soft on the inside and crisp outside. The mutton galauti kebab, which is a popular Lucknowi dish, is also made to perfection and is delicious.
From the veggie section, we ordered the Nizami Handi – a rich, creamy curry made with mixed vegetables and goes well with butter naan.
In the biryani section,we had the chicken dum biryani and the mutton dum biryani. Both the rice varieties were moist, fragrant, mildly spiced and the caramelized onions added the extra zing factor to make it a perfectly balanced dish. The chicken and lamb were equally tender and succulent. Finally, we finished off with the classic Hyderabadi dessert, qubani ka meetha with ice cream. Fanooz is soon coming up with another outlet in Jubilee Hills, and we can’t wait to visit there too.
