Chicken Man, as the name suggests, is a chicken specialist and takes the Roast Chicken offerings in the city to another, more sophisticated level. One outlet is on 100 Feet Road, JP Nagar, alongside other restaurants, and there’s a second one at the RMZ Ecoworld Food Court in Bellandur. Both are bright, tidy spaces, designed for a quick meal experience.

They also have efficient delivery and takeaway options, which is what I opted for.

Chicken Man is an appealing option in this season of roasts and hearty meals.

The Rotisserie Roast Chicken is the hero here and comes in various portion choices, for a single diner and up to 3-4 people. You can also pick from brown meat, white meat or a mix. I ordered the Whole Cluck — a full roast chicken, served in carved portions. The skin was golden and crisp, as it should be, and the meat was moist and tender, and nicely seasoned. The difference must also lie in Chicken Man’s promise that the poultry they source has been raised without hormones and steroids, and that the meat contains no antibiotic residue. The Roast Chicken was accompanied with some fluffy mashed potatoes and a brown gravy that was rich and flavourful, without being overwhelming. The condiments, too, come with an assurance of ‘no MSG ever’. It’s gratifying to see that restaurants are beginning to place value on goodness and not just taste, and are stretching to avoid shortcuts. The salad with the meal was made up of crisp greens and a pleasantly tangy dressing. I also tasted the Cluck Wings, which were a tad spicy for me. Chicken Man has a selection of burgers, too, and the Pulled Chicken Burger is a hot-selling item on the menu.

Chicken Man does tasty, valuefor-money meals. There are some vegetarian options, but these are limited.
