A pillared portico forms the entrance to the covered area which has many tables and chairs, with the buffet tables set on three sides with brick partitions behind them. Capsicum, Gota, Ahmedabad: Food
The restaurant has a large spread comprising about 50 different items. You can choose from two soups of the day and there are a couple of mocktails too. The chaatslike pani poori, ragda pattice and dahi papdi chaatare pretty good, and the fried starters like spring dosa and corn fritters are okayish. There is also good choice of salads.
The mains include three different paneer dishes served hot at the counter. There are three Indian vegetarian dishes – usually a kofta, a mixed vegetable dish and one more dish like a soya keema. The Indianised Chinese street food style dishes like noodles, fried rice and a vegetable dish are also not bad. The western selection includes pastas and mains which are passable.
Capsicum excels in Indian sweets. The jalebi was crisp and syrupy. The sukhdi melts in your mouth. The coconut burfi was pleasant tasting. The rasmalai was creamy and delicate.
