Cappuccino: Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park: Decor

Beige, cream and brown has been Cappuccinos’ colour scheme forever. The neutral colours do a good job of showcasing the somewhat abstract yet colourful wall paintings and food.

Heavy wooden furniture and neat, bold mosaic work on the floor essentially complete the decor.

Food:

The deep-fried Crispy Fragrant Chicken is a dry starter. Being an Indian Chinese dish, it’s spiced up with dry Chinese red chillies and deadly local green ones.

Quesadilla arrives at the table stuffed with crunchy onions, white and orange cheddar cheese. Even though the quesadilla is nice and cheesy by itself, the combination of salsa and sour cream slathered on adds an interesting twist. Jalapeño Broccoli is a delicious way of loading up on your antioxidants without too many calories.

Al Dente, with sprinkles of chilli flakes, basil and parsley, the Spaghetti Aglio Olio is well salted. Parmesan cheese comes along so you can add as much as you like.

Honey & Chocolate Crumble Parfait arrives in a stemmed glass, rimmed with a flat chocolate ring. Balanced on top three tiny garnishes. A cube of transparent honey jelly, meringue and soft chocolate. Inside is a hearty dollop of vanilla ice cream, cashew crumble and oodles of decadent flavours coming together with a hint of salt.
