Alfresco Chillin’ & Grillin’ is the special menu of the courtyard adjoining The Square, Novotel’s All Day Dining Restaurant. It features Japanese, western, Indian and sizzler dishes.

We walked through the lobby of Novotel to The Square, which is the all-day dining restaurant of the hotel. From The Square, we walked out onto the patio where tables and chairs were set in a well-lit area. This is an extremely pleasant place to dine in the cooler months.

Grills are the forte of Alfresco Chillin’ & Grillin’. We ordered honey glazed pork ribs, three good-sized ribs. We enjoyed morsels of moist and succulent fat-marbled pork meat, oven cooked so that its gelatinous stock mingled with the barbecue sauce and light honey glaze. This dish was robust yet elegant. Another meaty grilled dish on the menu is the stone grilled lamb chops, which comes with spinach, mashed potato and jus on the side.
The cheesy malai broccoli is one of the top vegetarian dishes here, the creamy marinade of the broccoli contrasting with crisp corn.The khade masala ka paneer tikka was a substantial dish with well-made paneer. The peri-peri grilled paneer steak sizzler comes with with sauteed vegetables and herbed rice. The barbecue chicken sizzler is another of their sizzler dishes. The grilled prawns were good sized and succulent. We also tried some of the sushis which were okay.
We ended with cream caramel which was also fairly good – firm, smooth and creamy, not too sweet, with some caramel sauce.
