A home-grown QSR brand, Burgrill has held its own in a crowded space since it first opened for business in 2016. The use of fresh and healthy ingredients (wheat brioche buns, multi-grain breads, spinach tortilla, brown rice) coupled with their choice of cooking techniques (mainly grilling) made them an instant hit in Chandigarh. Especially with those seeking nutritional value as much as value for money options in the fast food scene. That they boast some 30 odd outlets across five states today is a remarkable testimony to both product and popularity.
Burgrill, Sector 8, Chandigarh: Food
Burgrill’s extensive menu includes a variety of burgers, wraps, sandwiches and snacks. Their health bowls are a more wholesome treat comprising brown rice, fresh veggies and a protein of choice. The shakes here are equally in demand, with Belgian Chocolate Frappe and Sinful Strawberry topping the charts. They also offer attractively-priced combos that include a side of fries and your choice of beverage. Personally, I’ve always preferred their salad bowls and burgers over everything else and that’s what I called for on an impromptu gathering at home recently. Some Thai Chicken Salad, Heavy Weight (named thus for its two patty filling, one each of corn and spinach, and cottage cheese), Cheesy Cheddar Paneer, Mutton Quarter Pounder and a couple of Chicken Quarter Pounders were the order of the day.
Plus & Minus:
The order arrived swiftly, relatively warm and wrapped in environment-friendly packaging. The tangy salad, with fresh veggies, peanuts and grilled chicken cubes, was a refreshing burst of textures and flavours. Of the two vegetarian burgers, the mildly tangy Heavy Weight – came out tops for taste, and the slightly spicy Cheesy Cheddar Paneer with lettuce, onions and tomatoes, for both taste and crunch. And although I’m somewhat biased towards the mutton version, both non-vegetarian burgers were lip-smacking good–brown seeded buns with juicy grilled minced meat patties, fresh and sauteed veggies, cheese slices, and a generous slather of Burgrill’s secret sauce. It was all over in a matter of minutes. Says something, yes?
