Aura Cafe, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad: Decor

Despite the unassuming exterior, visitors are greeted with a stylish interiors that exude an very modern aesthetic. The place is spread over two levels apart from humble alfresco. While the ground level houses a gourmet store apart from the cafe, which is spread over an indoor and outdoor seating area, the upper level has a fine dining setup. Hanging pendant lamps, chic seating, wooden ceiling beams, bare-brick wall, potted plants and cute knickknacks, make for a lovely ambience.

Aura Cafe, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad: Food

Aura offers global and fusion fare; they aim to provide customers with a hearty meal that will remember. The menu is well laid out, from healthy soups and salads, pizzas and burgers, pastas, desserts and coffee. We began with the wonderfully presented Thai aromatic soup – tom kha gai – a chicken broth with a hint of Thai herbs and fresh coconut milk. Different from your usual Thai soup, I wished the dish had more flavor.

Then I tried charcoaled prawns – marinated prawns with honey and smoked paprika and dressed with yogurt, it was a decent dish. One can also try stuffed potato skins, mozzarella cigars, chicken teriyaki, which are all popular. For those who are health conscious, there are some wonderful salads and sandwiches with lots of fresh greens.

We also tried their home-made, oven baked fresh thin crust chicken pizza.

Loaded with cheese and an array of fresh toppings, it was brilliant. Then came the chicken piccata. It was wholesome with parmesan cheese, mashed potatoes and was served with marinara sauce.

Finally, we finished the meal with homemade gelatos that are worth a try. At Aura Café, they also serve breakfast before noon with a wide variety to choose from. Most of their ingredients are sourced from some of the finest places across the world, that adds up to the cost of the end product, making this place a tad expensive but worth a try.
