Arcot Bar at Trident Hotel has history and heritage. Nestled inside the first airport hotel in Chennai, this is a place where you can have soul conversations with good food and classic spirits along with new ones.
The bar is adorned with portraits of regal and Army personalities, and the interiors are elegant and solid. Amid a regal atmosphere, relish an extensive selection of the finest single malts, wines, champagne, and cocktails. We were there for a celestial cock tail journey based on zodiac signs, featuring some interesting cocktails.
Food:
Being a water bearer – Progressive and innovative Aquarian, my stars took me to God’s own country with the sulaimani whisky cocktail. The punch of cinnamon and star anise caught my palate. Married to a Dioscuri Twins – Gemini who is playful and intellectually curious, the apple-infused whisky with honey chilli syrup and lime juice was special. Our dramatic and warm-hearted Leo friend had her stars stuck on gin, black grapes, egg white and lime juice cocktail. The Zodiac sign cocktail added fun to the evening. What I also liked about the food here was its simple uncomplicated-old meets-new spread. The Chicken 65, Arcot chicken wings and typical bar munchies, like the classic South Indian murukku and peanuts added zest to the evening.
If you are one of those who loves light music with bright lights and believe that you don’t have to scream your lungs out to have a good conversation over a drink, this one’s a good choice.
