Situated on the ground floor of a commercial complex, this cafe has a glass frontage visible from the main road. The café has earthy tones like brick walls, rustic toned tiles, brown furniture and industrial looking ceiling, with a cycle and props lining the walls. The sofa-type furniture makes it a comfortable place for lounging over a meal.

Though the menu has a large choice of Indian dishes, western food is the forte of Alchemy Lab. And as the name suggests the owner, himself the head chef in the kitchen, does a lot of experimenting.
I ordered the Monterey Sandwich which had a robust filling of chicken breast flattened to a reasonable thickness and seasoned with spices, bacon that gives it flavor, and some refreshing mayo, in a Panini style sandwich. Chicken Cheese Grilled, Smokey BBQ Chicken, Indian Bahn Mi Paneer Sandwiches, Kheema Burger and Egg Sandwich are some of their other top offerings. The menu also has a section for shared plates – apart from the usual kebabs, tikkas, nachos and chicken wings, they have thoughtfully provided Banana Cutlets for the Jain patrons.
The chef’s special here is Lemon and Herb Chicken, and they also offer a good Grilled Chicken with Mashed Potatoes. I also tried the Butter Chicken but it was disappointing with the chicken itself being a bit stringy and not fresh tasting. The restaurant caters for those who like eggs with a good selection from Bacon-and-Eggs and Deviled Eggs dressed with mayo to Indian style spicy egg dishes. Crazy Egg Sandwich is one of their popular items. Expectedly, the pizzas and pastas are also popular.
Being a cafe, their beverage section is good too – they have good mocktails and coffees.
