Muse is a cafe with open air and indoor areas serving fusion foods. This multi-cuisine cafe and restaurant serves many unique international dishes.

Muse, Bodakdev, Ahmedabad: Decor

The pathway leads from the entrance to a rustic stone walled garden with a pond decorated with flamingo figures and fountains. On either side of the water feature are two a/c rooms – the first is a glass-walled pavilion that serves coffees and other beverages, and the other is the restaurant. The walls of the restaurant continue the rustic stone theme of the exterior walls. If you prefer to dine alfresco there are tables and chairs in the garden.

This restaurant specializes in fusion dishes that combine elements of different culinary styles and ingredients. For examples, quinoa seekh is a vegetable kebab with the added crunch of quinoa.

The oriental twist has pasta in a South Asian curry with some Italian elements.

The twisted roesti had the classic potato fritter with cheese, topped with paneer cooked with olive oil to a slightly creamy texture.

Much attention has gone into plating and presentation. The focaccia with tomato, potato and mozzarella is served like finger sandwiches standing up in attractively curved cups. They have some interesting starters like Turkish falafal and kung pao chestnuts. Black bean rice is a Mexican inspired dish with nachos as a crunchy addition.

This restaurant also has an egg menu. New style fritata is served like a pancake topped with croutons to add texture and served with arabiatta sauce. The other egg dishes include baked eggs, scrambled eggs quesadilas and Parsee inspired sali par edu.

The risotto was passable.

For dessert, I tried the black sesame chocolate cake which benefited from the nuttiness of the seeds but had the slight bitter aftertaste of black sesame– it is served alongside ice-cream which could perhaps disguise some of the bitterness. They have a long list of coffees, including java chocolate, cold brew and Red Bull added iced coffee.

Plus & Minus:

This is a pleasant cafe to relax over coffee or food. Most of the dishes are innovative and well-presented though a few of them are just above average.
