The Fixx, Koramangala, Bangalore: Decor
There are so many microbreweries and gastro pubs doing pretty much the same thing in Bengaluru that most are beginning to look like one another. The Fixx in Koramangala has a different vibe though, with its trendy decor, a cool colour palette and attractive bar. I was there on a quiet weekday afternoon, but it does get crowded and noisy on weekends.

It’s a fairly large menu with salads, small plates and big and pizza. If you are in the mood for instant noodles, then it is available with vegetarian addons. We ordered drinks and nibbled first on a small plate of Potato Tuuk. This, Sindhi-style dish was nicely done, crunchy potatoes sprinkled with spice and topped off with a cheese sauce. We then had the Som Tam, which was fresh and crisp, with a well-balanced dressing. The Lentil Vada, with specks of green, was unexceptional.
The Fixx also forays into mix-and-match, serving Soppu Palya Crostini with Chilli Jam and Gowdru’s Grilled Lamb, Gremolata.
There’s craft beer on tap here and while my companion had the Geist Witty Wit and Unkle Dunkle, I wanted to try some cocktails. Both my Old Fashioned, garnished with citrus peel etched with ‘Fixx’ and my LIT left me underwhelmed. With the latter, the bar seems to have taken the ‘Iced’ overly seriously and half the glass was massive cubes of ice.

The order-taking was efficient, but we waited a fair while for our drinks; too long considering the place was nowhere near busy.

The Fixx is for a night out with the gang. Cocktails could do with a lot of fine-tuning.
