Set facing the inner courtyard of a large commercial complex, George’s Bistro & Cafe is entered by a lobby which doubles as a cafe with settees and bistro style casual chairs and tables. From here, a stairway leads to the restaurant and there is even a rooftop lounge.

Since it is largely a cafe, snacks and beverages are an important part of the menu, which also has one dish rice meals, pastas, pizzas and mains.
I ordered chicken lollipops which were pretty good and came with salad and a dip, and the spicy and sticky chicken wings that were well cooked in the Oriental style but a wee bit too sweet for my taste. The chicken liver with hummus is a good Mediterranean style dish. Lamb meatballs in herby tomato sauce is another of their specials. Vegetable fritters with beetroot dip is a vegetarian house special.
The day’s special was a chicken salad, which was loaded with well grilled chicken and veggies on a bed of bread. The chicken boti or paneer boti wrap is also good-sized and substantial. The pizzas and pastas here are extremely popular.
The rice and sides menu comprises of substantial one dish meals like parsley rice with green Thai curry (veg, chicken or prawn), basmati rice with chicken mushrooms and green peas, mince lamb chilli Mexican hot pot and steamed rice with paneer tikka masala curry.
I ended with an apple crumble which had flaky golden brown crumbs and soft apple, moistened with cream. You can also choose from the tarts and day’s special desserts displayed at the counter. The coffees here are also good. I also ordered a Sulaiman chai, a golden brown brew of black tea which has a mix of sweet, spicy and lemony flavors.
