TG’s – The Oriental Grill – Hyatt, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad: DECOR
This brightly lit restaurant has tables set around or near teppanyaki grills. The fun here is watching the chefs cooking meats, fish, vegetables and accompaniments on the iron griddle in front of you.
TG’s – The Oriental Grill – Hyatt, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad: FOOD
A special aspect of this restaurant is that the Dim Sum is sold by piece – thus you can assemble your own assorted dumping plate. I tried the Hunan style lamb dumpling, which had onion, black pepper, green chili, soy and meat, Shanghai style chicken with celery, garlic, ginger and ginger soy, and mushroom. I also had the Prawn Har Gow, which had wellcooked prawn in pleated smooth pouches. The sushis they gave m e were already dabbed with sauces and wasabi, which was not as fiery as I would have liked. I enjoyed the Steamed Chicken Bao – the well-cooked chicken was folded into a soft and pillow-like white bun. The Ebi cracker had a thin and crispy batter on the prawn.
For the mains, the chef performed his tricks with the knife and showed good knife skills in chopping the ingredients. I enjoyed the shredded chicken leg in chili black bean sauce and the Twice cooked pork rib glazed with hoisin sauce was delicious. The Tiger prawn was cooked with onion, spinach, water chestnut and a yellow curry. I tried the last with Chef’s special sticky fried rice, The grills menu has many choices for vegetarians like tofu steak, ganmo steak, and quinoa, bell pepper, onion, zucchini, carrot and shitake mushroom. The restaurant also offers desserts like mille feuille, and ice-creams.
If you do not want to go through the process of ordering from the menu, you can choose from their set dinner menus.
TG’s – The Oriental Grill – Hyatt, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad: PLUS AND MINUS
This is a good place to entertain guests, with a nice ambience and the teppanyaki chefs; tricks. The food is good though not outstanding.
