Elvnthrtyone, Indiranagar, Bangalore: DECOR
Yet another bar and kitchen in Indiranagar. Ho hum, you’re bound to think. But Elvnthrtyone, named after its address, throws up surprises, in a good way. It’s on three levels, above Smoor Chocolates on 100 Feet Road. The first level is air conditioned and feels like a cosy pub. It also includes a hi-tech golf simulator and there’s even an instructor available. The second level is breezy and cool with water features and an attractive vertical garden. The DJ console is at the top level and this becomes a party zone at night.
Elvnthrtyone, Indiranagar, Bangalore: FOOD
It’s Mediterranean, Conti, Indian and Pan-Asian on the menu and, frankly, my expectations weren’t that high.
Imagine my surprise then when I was served a lovely crisp Immunity Booster Salad with mixed greens, almonds and orange segments. What it means to boost your immunity while downing beer buckets is another matter.
Then I had the Prawn Dimsum and it was beautifully crafted, both the skin and the filling being just perfect. The Jaipuri Murg ka Soola was a nicely done kebab wrapped in a red spice paste.
For main courses, my companion ordered the Green Peas and Shiitake Ravioli. It was an unusual filling and the herb butter sauce, enlived with truffle oil, was delicious. If the pasta had been slightly less dense, this would have been perfect. I had the Kashmiri Rogan Josh, which had tender lamb, mopping up the meaty, vibrant gravy, with Kulcha studded with capers and jalapeno, an Indian bread with a twist that really worked. From the Asian mains, I tasted the Pad Kra Pao, minced lamb stir-fried with chilli and beans. This was excellent, but needed Thai rice, instead of the long grain it came with, and the Chinese-style vegetables accompanying it were redundant.
On to dessert. I must confess I’m as tired of Chocolate Lava Cake as I am of burrata. But this was recommended to me and I went along. Elvnthrtyone’s version really is very good, made from top quality chocolate and having the right gooey quotient.
There’s a full bar and an array of cocktails you can order at this new spot that promises to become one of Indiranagar’s cool hangouts.

Elvnthrtyone, Indiranagar, Bangalore: PLUS AND MINUS
A happy vibe and good food, even from a multi-cuisine menu. Some of the cocktails could do with some refining.
