A good morning coffee is refreshing and especially when it’s freshly brewed, it is a pure bliss. Though our love for coffee is eternal, of late, it is how a perfect cup is prepared that has caught the fancy of the younger generation. And helping them experience it first-hand is the new kid on the block — The Roastery Coffee House (RCH).
The Roastery Coffee House, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad: DECOR
Located in a by-lane of Banjara Hills, RCH resides in a palatial bungalow converted into a charming cafe. With both indoor and alfresco setup, the cafe has a quaint, lively and cosy ambience. The wooden seating, pendant lighting, books-filled racks, hanging pots, cute knickknacks and artifacts give the interiors a homely feel which has struck a chord with its varied clientele. There is also ample natural light coming in through the windows and glass doors. It’s a pet-friendly property and the overall atmosphere is calm and serene.
The Roastery Coffee House, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad: FOOD
Before getting to the food, let’s talk about coffee first. RCH is famous for its coffee beans that are sourced from Mandalkhan and Thogarihunckle Estates in Budan Giri Hills, Karnataka. They roast their beans and customize coffee to suit one’s preference — be it light or medium brew with milk or chocolate. The pour-over is done at the table to give one an idea of the brewing process. We are not much of an iced latte or double-shot-espresso kind, but the pour-over certainly impressed us. There was a steady flow of visitors throughout the time we were there.
Coming to the food, one would find all the regular comfort snacks in the menu. We started off with the Cheesy Onion Rings — sliced onions prepared with thinly sliced fresh mozzarella cheese that were crunchy from outside and cheesy inside.
Then we tried the Cherry Tomato and Buffalo Mozzarella Bruschetta, a refreshing dish prepared with flavorful and sweet tomatoes cooked with fresh mozzarella and basil. Then came the BBQ Chicken Burger. With well-marinated chicken breast pieces, grilled and tossed with smoked barbecue sauce and crunchy onion rings between the buns, it was my pick of the day. One can also try the Baked Stuffed Chicken — a well-seasoned chicken breast with freshly crushed garlic pods and stuffed with mutton keema. It looked delightful and wholesome.Choices in desserts were limited, but spot on.One should definitely try the moist and delicious Chocolate Orange Cake.
